„Showbusiness is like sex - you need a good start and a spectacular finish" -
Désirée Nick - the “world-class jungle queen” (FAZ newspaper),, bestselling author of “Is there life after 40?” and “showbiz revolutionary” (Spiegel magazine) - has taken this maxim to heart when building her empire. In this show, the single mother and housewife (39) reviews her first decade in showbiz and is highly satisfied with her achievements, for “my main accomplishment of the last 15 years is that no one thinks I'm a man any more”. For anyone who has missed the highlights of her glamorous shows up until now, the diva abandons her superstar throne in order to rescue clueless philistines from their miserable existence: Desi calls for a vast learning drive so that the last knowledge gaps Nick universe can be closed and the ranks of loyal troops can be swelled for the final push to total Désiréefication. The second half sees La Nick finally able to get down to business with her homogeneous audience. La Nick relives her career Berlin rough diamond, reminisces about the first scandals arising from her legendary insulting of celebrities, packs a punch once again with her “de luxe sagging boobs”, gives us a few déjà-vu experiences and charms her audience with a medley of her greatest successes from “The joy of aging”. To give you a taste of her countless Nick-isms, “a legend is a lie which has taken on the dignity of age”. But she wouldn't be the same La Nick who has won our hearts if she didn't keep returning to the one thing her fans adore: a look back at the jungle camp from her own personal point of view. The camp gave us a glimpse of La Nick's softer side and left out all of the witty comments which were meant for her theatre audience alone. With the promising line “Shakespeare did it his way, and I'll do it mine - let's see who comes out best in the end”, superstar Désirée's new show is titled “ The Kick-Start of a Legend”. And her resolution for the second decade? In Nick's own words: “I won't be satisfied until someone has laughed themselves to death in my show - that will be the trial of my life.” |
